Community Settlement Program (formerly NISW)
Our Community Settlement Program offers free support to all newcomers who are permanent residents residing in the south part of Winnipeg with the following postal codes:
R3P, R3Y, R3R, R3T, R3V, R2Y, R3H, R3J, R3K, R3S, R3M, R3N, R3L, R2H, R2J, R2M, R3X, R2N
Our Settlement Supports for Families:
Key features:
- A professional multi cultural team of social service staff
- Comprehensive needs assessment, triage, settlement planning and ongoing assessment to support emerging needs
- One to one settlement support for individuals and families who are mostly independent but require some assistance with identified needs, referrals and connection to programs, and service to ensure that settlement goals are well supported and progressing
- Support is offered where it is needed ( in the home, in the community) and when needed we can provide interpretation and transportation
- For newcomers who are navigating settlement independently yearly check-ins will be offered to ensure integration continues successfully
